Charter Spectrum TV App Launches on Apple TV

Last June, Apple announced that Spectrum Cable would launch on Apple TV. Today, the streaming cable app is now live for Charter Spectrum customers.

The app allows Spectrum streamers to watch live and on-demand content on their Apple TV, as well as use Zero-Login to automatically activate TV Everywhere Apps when connected to Spectrum broadband.

The app was already available on iOS, Android, Roku, Xbox One, and Samsung Smart TVs. According to MacRumors, the Spectrum TV App only appears to work when connected to Spectrum internet and not a third-party Internet service.

Charter Spectrum, the second largest cable company in the country, isn’t the only company trying to get customers to stream their cable package on a media player. Last year, Comcast launched Xfinity Stream on Roku, which lets customers watch live TV, on demand, and recording from their Roku devices. There have also been rumors that Comcast plans to release their own streaming box this year.
