D23 Gold Members Can Now Get 33% OFF Disney+ Subscription Online

Last week, Disney announced an incredible deal for their D23 members that will drop the price of Disney+ by $23 per year to just $47 (normally $70). The offer was available to anyone attending last weekend’s D23 Expo, but is now available online for D23 Gold and D23 Gold Family members until September 2nd.

If you are not a member, you can get access to the deal by subscribing to D23 Gold ($100) or D23 Gold Family Membership ($120). Unless you’re going to use the D23 membership, it is a better value to just subscribe to the Disney+ $70 annual plan ($210 for 3 years), than to purchase a year of D23 and the promo ($241 for 3 years).

This is the second promotion that Disney has launched around Disney+, but the first that is not bundled with their other services. In Early August, Disney announced that subscribers could get Disney+ ($6.99), Hulu ($5.99) (ad-supported plan), and ESPN+ ($4.99) — is $5 less than if subscribed to separately. With the new bundle, you can get the three services for less than Netflix.

Disney+ will launch their streaming service on November 12th at just $6.99 a month, nearly half the price of Netflix ($12.99). The service includes four simultaneous streams, unlimited downloads, 4K streaming across a range of devices including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, & Web.

Starting with the 2019 theatrical slate, all Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars films will become exclusive to Disney+ meaning movies like the live-action versions of Aladdin, The Lion King, Captain Marvel, and Avengers: Endgame will only be available to stream on Disney+. The company also announced an original slate including a 10-episode Star Wars series, called The Mandalorian, from Jon Favreau which will be available at launch in November.

The first year will include 25 new original series, 10+ movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault. Previously, many of those new releases and library films would have gone to Netflix as part of a distribution deal that started in 2016.
