fuboTV to Increase Monthly Price by $10 on Legacy Customers

Unfortunately for legacy Fubo customers, 2019 is going to get a little more expensive. When Fubo initially launched, the service was priced at $34.99.

In September 2017, when they added MSG/MSG+, they raised pricing to $39.99 in most markets and $44.99 in New York metro area. Then, in February 2018, they updated pricing to $44.99 in all markets.

At the time, many customers expected to be locked into Fubo original price for life, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

Today, the company announced that customers who were previously able to retain the $34.99 price, will start paying $44.99 per month on their first bill following February 15, 2019.

As part as an email to customers, they company highlighted their numerous programming additions including AMC, TBS, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network — as well as the addition of 4K streams.

This is not a first in the streaming industry. DIRECTV NOW increased the price on their grandfathered Go Big intro plan by $5 when they raised pricing in July. Existing PlayStation Vue and Sling Orange customers also saw their price increase when they raised prices this summer.

This leaves YouTube TV as the only vMVPD to grandfather customers at their original launch price of $34.99 a month.
