At today’s Disney Investor Day, Hulu CEO Randy Freer announced that just like they do with HBO and Showtime, Hulu will also make Disney+ as an add-on to the service. Right now, the company hasn’t shared whether the bundle will come at a discount, but it is something that their are considering for the pair of services.
Freer also shared, that in response to recent price hikes of Hulu Live TV, most of those churned to a SVOD plan ($6-12) rather than leaving the service altogether. In fact, Hulu had their lowest month of churn this past March.
At the event, Freer reiterated an earlier shared number that Hulu now has 25 million subscribers (23 million paid). Part of Hulu’s growth is that they are the largest streaming library of TV episodes with nearly 85,000 total episodes. Their original shows like The Handmaid’s Tale and The Act have also contributed to growth of the SVOD product.
