Netflix’s ‘Tiger King’ Is Currently the Most Popular Show Right Now, Report Finds
Netflix has once again managed to be the center of attention with their new series “Tiger King.” The idiosyncratic, true crime docu-series is currently the most popular TV show across the board, Rotten Tomatoes found. The show currently holds a 97 percent critic’s rating and a 96 percent audience score on the site, putting it ahead of “Ozark,” USA Network’s “Queen of the South” and USA’s “The Sinner.”
While the series is indicated to be a hit on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems IMDb is showing slightly different results. According to Variety, the series is standing on an 8.1 average (out of 10) rating from nearly 5,300 users. While the rating still seems quite high, the number actually means “Tiger King” isn’t in the top 250 TV shows on the site by that metric.
“Tiger King” follows Joe Exotic, the owner of the G.W. Zoo in Oklahoma, as he vies for the top spot in the world of big cat ownership. While Exotic garners popularity due to his eccentric methods, a feud with animal activist Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue, who tries to shut down the big-cat breeders, leads to Exotic’s arrest in connection with a murder-for-hire plot.
According to Variety, the topsy turvy show is currently the number one most-watched title in the U.S. for March 29 both overall and among TV shows on Netflix. The show has also maintained a slot in the top 10 for the past week.
