OFFICIAL: YouTube TV and NBCU Agree to New Deal, Channels to Remain With No Change in Monthly Price

Yesterday, we reported that YouTube TV and NBCUniversal were closing in on a deal. This morning the two sides made it official. As part of the deal, NBC local channels, NBC Regional Sports Networks, and NBCU-owned cable channels will remain on the service. Peacock was not included as part of the deal. YouTube TV says that the subscription price will remain at $64.99 a month.

For YouTube TV subscribers, by reaching a deal they will be able to stream Notre Dame Football on NBC this afternoon and the big return of Tom Brady on Sunday Night Football from Foxboro on Sunday.

In a statement to The Streamable, a spokesperson for YouTube TV said: “We’re thrilled to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying the full NBCUniversal portfolio of channels. That means you won’t lose access to any of their channels, and YouTube TV will continue to offer 85+ networks for $64.99. We appreciate NBCUniversal’s willingness to work toward an agreement, and we also appreciate your patience as we negotiated with them on your behalf.”

NBC echoed a similar message: “We are thrilled to have reached a deal with YouTube TV and can continue to offer our full network portfolio, without interruption. YouTube is a valued partner and we never want to involve our fans in a dispute, but we felt obligated to let them know what was at stake. We thank our viewers for their loyalty and promise to continue bringing them the networks and programs they love.”

Christian Oestlien; Vice President of Product Management, YouTube TV said of the negotiation:

The channels that would have been affected include all NBC local affiliates, as well as Bravo, CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, MSNBC, NBC Sports Network, Oxygen, Syfy, Telemundo, Universal Kids, Universo, and USA Network. Customers would have also lost their local NBC Sports RSNs — including NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports California, NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports Philadelphia, and NBC Sports Washington.
