This Is Everything Coming to Disney Plus in January 2020, Including ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Aladdin’

Disney+ may have only launched just a few months ago, but they already have some major blockbusters coming to the service in January 2020. Starting with their 2019 movie releases, every film will make its way onto Disney+ — and two of their biggest titles of the year will debut next year.

“Aladdin,” which was helmed by Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith, will be available on Jan. 8, 2020, while “The Lion King,” which boasted a star-studded cast featuring James Earl Jones, Donald Glover and Beyoncé, will be available on Jan. 28. On the original series front, a new series called “Diary of a Future President” created by Rodriguez debuts on Jan. 17.

Also coming to Disney+ will be “Holes” (Jan. 1), the 2003 film starring Shia LaBeouf, and Disney’s 1993 live-action comedy “Cool Runnings” (Jan. 1), starring John Candy, which follows the unlikely story of the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team.

Disney+ launched on Nov. 12 at $6.99 a month after a 7-Day Free Trial, nearly half the price of Netflix ($12.99). The service includes four simultaneous streams, unlimited downloads, 4K streaming across a range of devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android and Web.

The streaming service has a deep catalog including the entire Disney Vault, Pixar and Star Wars libraries, MCU films like “Captain Marvel,” and the entire 30 seasons of The Simpsons.
