The Umbrella Academy season 2 trailer is just out — promoting the upcoming season that lands on Netflix July 31.
The show follows seven children mysteriously conceived, who exhibit supernatural powers at birth. They are adopted by eccentric billionaire Reginald Hargreeves, who transforms the group into a crime-fighting family.
“The Umbrella Academy” is adapted from the graphic comic-book series written by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.
Season one ended with the world about to be destroyed — and the Hargreeves racing to stop the apocalypse. They are up against The Commission, an organization that can travel through time and are determined to wreak havoc.
In the 10-episode season two, the siblings embark on their own time-travel story, sent back to 1960s Dallas. The upcoming shows promise new characters and new challenges for the often tormented, but gifted crew coming to terms with their superpowers.
The cast includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton and Mary J. Blige.
Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy, which debuted February 2019, is currently available on Netflix.
Netflix also debuted two shows today, the harrowing drama “Stateless” and the documentary “Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado.”
Plus, it revealed trailers for “Away” and Kissing Booth 2, which launch September 4 and July 24, respectively.
