NBCU’s upcoming streaming service Peacock will be released to Xfinity X1 and Flex customers on April 15 and nationwide on July 15.

The service includes two tiers: Peacock Free and Peacock Premium.

Peacock Free will be ad-supported and free to everyone and provide more than 7,500 of programming. Peacock Premium provides more than 15,000 hours of programming and will be free for Comcast and Cox subscribers and $4.99 to everyone else. There will be an additional $4.99 add-on for an ad-free experience.

Today we learned that the service will include live and on-demand content, user profiles, a dedicated kids mode and 4K streaming with Peacock Premium.

Home Screen

When you first launch the Peacock App it will automatically start playing content like daily news.

Individual Sections

Across the top, there are three options — “Channels,” “Trending” and “Browse.” Under “Channels,” you will see linear feeds of both live and on-demand feeds. Under “Trending,” you will see news content including NBC News Now — the companies live streaming news network. Under “Browse,” you will be able to see all the on-demand and live streamable content like TV Shows, Movies and Sports.

Browsing Shows & Movies

When you select a show or movie, it will take you see more details about the show — like “The Office.” The interface will not only let you select individual seasons, but curated episodes and even clips.

Just like if you bought a digital copy of a movie, you will be able to watch Extras around films.

Channels

Similar to Pluto TV, Peacock will have linear channels. These will both include live content like a full 24/7 feed of The Olympic Channel — but also created ones like one based on the SNL Vault.

User Profiles & Avatars

Each account will let you create Profiles for the different members of your household. You can choose an avatar from some of your favorite Universal characters.

Kids Mode

On the profiles, you can set an account to be in “Kids Mode,” which will give a unique experience just for children. It will feature kids-focused content for your family.
