About The J Team

The J Team tells the story of a young girl named JoJo. Her life changes when her dance coach Val (Laura Soltis) retires, leaving JoJo and the rest of the troupe with a new coach, Poppy (Tisha Campbell-Martin). JoJo and her close friends, The Rubies (Kerrynton Jones, Kiara Romero) run into some trouble, however, because Poppy dislikes sparkles.

JoJo’s individuality isn’t valued by Poppy. To be in the upcoming competition, JoJo must conceal her true personality and blend in with the rest of the troupe. So, she ditches her bow and sparkles to stay on Poppy’s good side. Finally, JoJo shows her sparkle and gets kicked out of the troupe. She’s left to find the importance of dance in her life.

Siwa executive produced and starred in The J Team. On Entertainment Tonight, she talked about this role. She said, “Being the lead in a movie was magical, and then being the executive producer was magical. It gave me a great, great, great experience on the film, being on that side of it.”
