Hulu + Live TV Expands 14-Day Grid Guide to iPhone and iPad

Just last week, Hulu added their updated Grid Guide to a number of devices, after bringing it to Apple TV and Roku in late-August. Hulu has confirmed to The Streamable that the new live guide, which now allows you to see 14-days of shows (up from 48 hours), is in the process of rolling out to iOS devices including iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Users will need to update to Version 6.5 of iOS App to see the update.

New Grid Guide Features

  • Access a full two-week grid guide that lets viewers see what’s ahead, record upcoming shows, movies, and games in advance, and channel surf to their heart’s content.
  • Add channels to “My Channels” that allows for access to their favorite channels and programs directly from Home and the Live Guide.
  • Easily find recommended TV shows and movies that are airing on live TV right now from Home.
  • Browse live content collections to quickly jump to sports, news, movies, and kids content that’s live right now and coming up in the future.

The feature was originally announced by Hulu at CES in January, and began rolling out on Hulu.com in July. Besides the 2-week look ahead, down the left side you will quickly be able to switch between All Channels, Favorites, Recents, and categories like Sports. The new guide adds an quick view panel, easier filtering, startover icons, and an indicator if a game in blacked out in your city directly from the guide.

This is the second major update to the iOS update in as many months. In late-August, Hulu updated their iPhone & iPad Apps with a complete overhaul of their Home menu. With the update, when scrolling through content, you will see more than one show or movie. On iPad, there are now up to six tiles of content, while on iPhone you can see two at at time.
