Hulu is one of the most popular streaming services out there, so it’s no surprise that users want updates on how to get their go-to shows and movies easier. Since most of us all have different payment options, though, it can be difficult to understand which thresholds offer what — which is why we want to make it easier for you.
Back on February 26, Hulu’s pricing changed a bit — in case you didn’t already notice — so it’s important to understand what monthly base prices get you. Here’s a look at some of the prices that Hulu now offers, which includes the option of having live TV; which coincided with the addition of the Discovery Channel being added to the Hulu Live platform.
- Hulu with commercials ($5.99): The least expensive (and most basic) Hulu pricing option, this gives users full access to the Hulu library, but it does have commercials throughout the shows, which can be a drag for some people.
- Hulu with no commercials ($11.99): Just four dollars extra each month (or $48 more per year), gets users all the movies and shows in the Hulu catalogue without commercials. It’s an added perk for those who don’t want to sit through the ads and just enjoy seamless streaming.
- Hulu Live TV with commercials ($44.99): A major upgrade in terms of content and options, Hulu Live brings a live TV experience with commercials, similar to what you might find with a basic cable option. But Hulu Live with commercials also gives access to all those shows and movies, too, as well as giving users Unlimited Screens and Enhanced Cloud DVR, with both being $9.99 per month.
- Hulu Live TV with no commercials ($50.99): The top option from Hulu brings everything a user could imagine to their fingertips, but, at $50.99, it’s also the most expensive the service has ever been. For those interested in the Unlimited Screens and Enhanced Cloud DVR options as add-ons, when bundled together on Hulu Live, users save an additional $5, dropping the price to $14.99 instead of $19.99.
For those who may be considering upgrading their Hulu service to something with Hulu Live, here’s a quick breakdown (or reminder) of the live channels users will definitely get. Other than these, local options vary, depending on where you live.
