Philo Launches ‘Philo is TV. For Everyone’ Ad Campaign
Philo wants consumers to know they don’t have to dole out hundreds of dollars in order to get the best TV service. Deadline reports the live TV streaming service has launched a new ad campaign that touts its $20 per month price point. The campaign, titled “Philo is TV. For Everyone,” highlights the service’s offerings from “about five dozen networks from Discovery, ViacomCBS, AMC Networks and others,” according to Deadline.
The ad, which is being rolled out on digital and linear platforms in either 15, 30 or 60-second slots, is aimed primarily at the New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta markets. After launching this week, the campaign is expected to continue “at least through the first half of 2020,” Deadline notes.
In May, Philo dropped their $16 plan for new subscribers and now offers a single $20 plan. While Philo doesn’t offer news or sports, in comparison to services like AT&T TV Now ($50), Hulu Live TV ($45) and YouTube TV ($50), it’s 58-channel bundle is affordable.
“Philo is TV. For Everyone” comes months after Tubi launched an ad campaign of their own taking jabs at not only Netflix, but the streaming wars in general. Titled “Not on Netflix,” Tubi’s campaign presented the service as a hassle-free option while the launches of Apple TV+ and Disney+ and the upcoming HBO Max and Peacock flood an already highly saturated market.
