Late last week, we learned that Philo had begun tweaking their grid guide across various devices. Now, we have the full details of exactly what was changed by the service. The biggest change was an update to the font and weighting to make the guide easier to read from a distance.
Additionally, on some devices, like Apple TV when you begin scrolling in the guide, the top navigation disappears so you can view the grid in full screen. The guide retains the same features it had before like auto-play a live preview of the channel as you scroll.
Philo initially launched their grid guide last December which dramatically improved the experience for subscribers. While it isn’t a 14-Day Grid Guide like that of what Hulu Live TV launched last month, it gives a preview of the next 6-12 hours of content. As with many other services, as you add favorites — you will see those first in the grid view.
