It looks like Google may have a new feature in development that puts all your streaming services onto one platform. According to the first impressions gathered by Chrome Story, Kaleidoscope “is a project to unify all the streaming video platforms that we use.”
According to Chrome Story, a visit to the page chrome://kaleidoscope/ via Chrome Canary showed a landing page with the tagline, “All your shows in one place.” Beneath the tagline were streaming services and after selecting all, the next page stated, “Continue watching across all devices.” The next page was unavailable, however, possibly because the feature is still under development.
According to 9to5Google, Chrome Kaleidoscope could also offer “discover-like recommendations of what to watch next from selecting streaming providers,” which would show up when you open new tab and help find content that you wouldn’t come across by simply browsing through Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+.
9to5Google also reported that Kaleidoscope could potentially “integrate purchases and rentals, which points towards integration with either YouTube or Google Play Movies.”
