Late last week, Disney+ officially launched their pre-order for their streaming service, which goes live on November 12th. Unlike their pre-sale for D23 customers, which discounted the serviceto just $3.92 a month for three years, there is no discount for pre-ordering Disney+. So without a discount, should you pre-order the service?
Are You A Disney Visa Cardholder or Disney Movie Club Member?
Over the past month, Disney+ has sent out additional offers to those associated with different Disney programs like Disney Movie Club or those with a Disney Visa card.
The offer to most groups gives $20 off a 2-Year commitment ($5 a month) or $40 off a 3-Year commitment ($4.72 a month). In comparison, when you pre-pay for 1-Year for the service you would pay $5.83 a month. Since these offers will expire in October, if you expect to subscribe to Disney+ - its a no brainer to take advantage of the deal.
Do You Want the Disney+ Bundle?
In August, Disney announced that you will be able to subscribe to a bundle of Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu (with Ads) for $12.99 a month. As of right now, you can only pre-order Disney+ by itself. If you want to take advantage of the bundle, you will have to wait until the service officially launches.
Do You Want to be a Disney+ Founders Circle Member?
The only real benefit of pre-ordering Disney+ is that you will be considered a “Founders Circle” member. What that means though - we don’t know yet. Disney has called everyone who has signed-up before launch a “Founders Circle” member, but hasn’t disclosed the benefit of that.
The current pre-order gives you a 7-Day Free Trial when you sign-up — which will be available if you sign-up today or wait until November 12th. So if you don’t care about being a member of the Founders Circle — time is your greatest asset. If you haven’t been targeted with an offer for a Disney+ discount quite yet, why not wait and see if you get one? From what we’ve seen so far, maybe you’ll get one for visiting a Disney Park, going on a Disney Cruise, or subscribing to another Disney streaming service like Hulu.
Get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for just $14.99 a month ($12 savings).
