Last week, Sling TV announced they were helping people stay home and stay connected amid the coronavirus outbreak with their “Stay in and Sling” initiative, which offers free access to news and entertainment. Now, the company is doubling down on their efforts with the launch of 19 international news channels.
Users can now watch news from other countries on channels from five geographic regions without a paid Sling TV subscription. Users can access the new channels on a limited-time basis from the new “World News” ribbon on the “My TV” tab within the Sling TV free experience.
Channels include Al Jazeera, BBC Arabic, Times Now, Republic TV, EuroNews, France 24, Band News and ETTV News, covering the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, Brazil and East Asia.
Customers can download the Sling TV free experience for their Roku, Amazon or Android devices. Once downloaded, click “Browse as Guest” or “Try Sling Free” to begin watching. Users can also access the program via web browser by visiting watch.sling.com and following the instructions on the welcome screen. The Sling TV free experience is currently not available on iOS devices.
Users already subscribed to Sling TV can access the free content from within the user interface on any Sling TV-supported device without altering their subscription. Former subscribers may need to click on “Rent Movies” and navigate to My TV to access the Sling TV free experience.
