With nearly 26 millions hours streamed on Hulu everyday, the company shared what shows, movies, and sports people were streaming the most in 2018.
The most streamed day of the year was September 23rd with the NFL season hitting it’s stride, MLB teams fighting for final playoff spots, Tiger Woods capturing the PGA Championship, and the premiere of the final season of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.
Just like sports, news is also a huge driver of Hulu Live TV and especially in the morning. Viewers watched 6 million hours of NBC’s Today making it their top watched news show.
Unsurprisingly, the most watched episode of the year was The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 premiere. However, the most popular new show on Hulu was Stephen King’s Castle Rock.
Hulu viewers also couldn’t get enough of Law and Order: SVU with over 258 million episodes streamed this year. But, that didn’t stop them from bingeing family favorite, This is Us — with 2 million binge sessions (5+ hours on a single day).
Sometimes viewers forget that Hulu also has thousands of movies as well. New releases Baywatch, Transformers, and The Last Knight saw more than 27 million streams on the service.
Going into 2019, Hulu has added more shows for you to binge on, especially over the holidays. You can catch up on the complete series of 24, The Wonder Years, season one of Killing Eve, or classic movies Apollo 13 and The Shawshank Redemption.
