These were the Most Popular Shows & Movies on Sling in 2018

In 2018 Sling added 55 live and on-demand channels and more than 40,000 on-demand titles, which resulted in hundreds of years of content streamed everyday. The company shared what shows, movies, and sports people were streaming the most in 2018.

Most Watched Live Events

Besides the Midterm Elections, which was the most streamed news moment (and #3 live event) — sports dominated live viewership on Sling. Of the top 5 live events, four of them were sports. The top spot went to the College Football Championship, followed by the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. Rounding out the list was the Warriors @ Rockets Game 7.

Top Recorded Shows

People took full advantage of the Sling Cloud DVR this year. The most recorded show was Live PD, followed by The Walking Dead, 2018 FIFA World Cup, WWE Monday Night RAW, and The Rachel Maddow Show.

Most Loved Shows

Slingers also binged a number of shows this year. Most of the series they loved had true power couples. Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna took the #1 spot, followed by The Big Bang Theory with Sheldon and Leonard, and Family Guy with Peter and Stewie.

Most Watched Movies

One of people’s favorites of live TV is catching up on the movies from the past few years. The most-watched films were Jurrasic World (2015), Step Brothers (2008), Deadpool (2016), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), and The Day After Tomorrow (2004).
