How Many Simultaneous Streams Can You Use With HBO Max?

HBO Max launched on May 27 at $14.99 a month, which is the same price as HBO NOW, but more expensive than Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney+. Given that most people are planning to use it with their family near and far (and even in a galaxy far far away), some wondered how may concurrent streams you can use it with.

HBO Max Simultaneous Streams & Offline Downloads

If you are streaming HBO Max which connected to the Internet, you can use it with three simultaneous streams. However, you can download shows and movies on up 10 mobile or tablet devices to stream offline. When you stream content offline, it doesn’t count towards your three stream cap.

How Does HBO Max Concurrent Streams Compare to Other Streaming Services?

In comparison to other Video Streaming Services, Netflix allows streaming on a single device with their “Basic” (¥800) plan, with simultaneous access on two devices on their “Standard” (¥1,200) plan, and four devices on their “Premium” (¥1,800) plan. On the other hand, Hulu can be logged into as many devices as you like, but only two can be streaming at the same time.

Amazon Prime Video allows you to stream up to three different titles at the same time using the same Amazon account, but the same title can only be streamed by two devices simultaneously. HBO NOW allows up to three viewers to watch streams simultaneously.

Disney+ allows you to stream on up to four devices at the same time and across up to 7 user profiles.

Apple TV+ is the most generous when it comes to concurrent streams, allowing simultaneous streaming across six different devices at the same time. SHOWTIME and CBS All Access can be used across a maximum of three simultaneous streams.
