Apple Expected to Offer OTT Subscriptions Through TV App

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is expected to add the ability to buy video subscriptions directly though their TV App.

The TV App, which currently merges content from apps like HBO, Showtime, and ESPN — would soon allow users to subscribe to channels directly through the app.

This is most similar to Amazon’s Prime Video Channels which let’s Amazon customers subscribe to OTT services directly from the online retail giant.

The timing of the launch is not known, but some speculate the announcement could come during their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote on June 4th.
