Fern Siegel

Multiple Emmy-winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus has joined the creative streaming community.

Post-“Veep,” Louis-Dreyfus has signed an extensive and exclusive deal with Apple TV+ in which she will executive produce and star in upcoming shows. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Louis-Dreyfus became a TV star during her successful nine-season run in “Seinfeld.” She is also slated to star with Will Ferrell in the movie “Downhill,” a remake of the Swedish dramedy “Force Majeure.”

“I am thrilled about this new partnership with my friends at Apple,” said Louis-Dreyfus. “Also, many thanks and kudos to my representatives for structuring the deal in such a way that I am paid in AirPods.”

The actress has won 11 Emmy awards, nine SAG Awards and multiple Golden Globes, as well as the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Early this month, it was announced that Richard Plepler, former CEO-chairman at HBO, signed a five-year deal with Apple TV+ to develop original films and series via Eden, his production company.

Apple TV+ is free for one-year to those who purchase an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV. Otherwise, the service is $5 a month after a 7-day free trial.
