At today’s Google Cloud conference, Geir Magnusson, CTO of fuboTV, talked about how the company built their OTT platform on top of Google Cloud in the last 24 months. As part of his talk, Magnusson revealed that the service will be releasing support for Samsung Smart TVs in beta in the next few weeks.
While the service is available on many streaming media players like Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV, this would be the first Smart TV platform (besides Roku TV). At this point, Sling TV, Hulu Live TV, DIRECTV NOW, and YouTube TV all support Samsung Smart TVs.
We don’t expect Fubo to stop there. We have heard that there are multiple product enhancements on the horizon, including support for additional Smart TVs, better personalization throughout the interface, as well as a much needed upgraded Cloud DVR. Just last week, Fubo began testing support for series recording.
