Netflix’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ Lands Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Chris Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Voice Cast
Netflix’s “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” — an animated series produced by Mattel Television — has landed a powerhouse cast. Created by Kevin Smith, the series will be helmed by Lena Headey, Chris Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
“The series will focus on the unresolved storylines of the iconic characters in the He-Man universe, picking up where they left off decades ago,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mark Hamill will portray Skeletor, the main antagonist and super villain in the series, while Headey plays Skeletor’s right-hand woman Evil-Lyn. Chris Wood will voice Prince Adam/He-Man, while Sarah Michelle Gellar and Liam Cunningham play He-Man’s sidekicks, Teela and Man-at-Arms, respectively.
Additional cast members include Stephen Root, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long Cree Summer and many more. A release date for the series has not yet been revealed.
Netflix recently announced that they reached 167 million global subscribers in their Q4 2019 earnings report. The figure represents a 20 percent increase from last year. The company, which is switching to reporting numbers regionally, added that they had 61 million U.S. subscribers (up 420,000) and surpassed 100 million internationally for the first time (up 8.33 million).
