First Lady Michelle Obama has retained her popularity since leaving the White House. Always an activist for children, she has teamed with YouTube Originals for “Creators for Change with Michelle Obama: Girls’ Education.”
The special, premiering in March 2020, focuses on the many challenges girls face as they pursue an education in Vietnam. This is the debut show in the “Creators for Change” series.

YouTube Originals has partnered with the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance, which promotes education for adolescent girls worldwide. The Alliance claims more than 98 million adolescent girls globally are not in school.
The economic and social implications are critical. Yet, when girls do get an education, poverty decreases, economies grow and families strengthen.
YouTube creator and actress Liza Koshy, Julia Roberts, Lana Condor, Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of President George W. Bush, and Ngô Thanh Vân (Veronica Ngo) are also participating in the Vietnam special.
Upcoming “Creator” shows, also in conjunction with the Alliance, will profile educational efforts for adolescent girls in India and Namibia.
Previously, YouTube partnered with Obama on two other series: “BookTube” and “A Student’s Guide to Your First Year of College.” Both were coordinated with Reach Higher, the education initiative Obama launched while in the White House.
