Don’t Worry, Friends is Not Leaving Netflix For Now

There were earlier reports this morning that Friends would no longer be streamable on Netflix. It appears a glitch made it appear that the show would be leaving the service on January 1st.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case according to Wall Street Journal reporter, Joe Flint.

Joe Flint @JBFlint

“There was note on Friends page saying show was leaving Jan. 1 2019 that started tweet fest. However, per reporting, that appears to have been a mistake and show is not leaving … yet. Not saying Friends is on Netflix for life, just saying it’s not going anywhere just yet.”

Netflix has since confirmed that Friends will be available on the service at least through 2019.

The rumors spread as Warner Bros. last week announced that their Netflix-competitor would be launching late next year. Friends, a Warner Bros. Television series, seems like a natural fit for the WarnerMedia streaming service.

Many of the rumors spread as Netflix has started to cancel shows that they don’t own outright including Marvel’s Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage (owned by Disney) and American Vandal (owned by CBS).

For the time being though, it seems like Friends will still be there for you.
