Since 2022, the National Football League has offered its own streaming service called NFL+. This service combines features previously available on other platforms, as well as new features like live local and national audio for every game.
NFL Sunday Ticket is now available exclusively on YouTube TV or YouTube. What are the differences? What are the pros and cons? We’ll break down all the differences for you.
Preseason
NFL+ will feature every out-of-market preseason game live across all devices. Preseason games are not included with Sunday Ticket subscriptions.
Regular Season
Live local and primetime games will be available to NFL+ subscribers, but can only be streamed on phones or tablets. NFL+ does not currently offer access to out-of-market regular season games.
Sunday Ticket subscribers do not have access to live local games, but can watch all out-of-market regular season games live.
Playoffs and Super Bowl
All postseason games will also be available on NFL+ via tablet or phone, including the Super Bowl.
Since Sunday Ticket is a regular season package, it does not currently offer subscribers any postseason games, which are all nationally televised.
Extras
NFL+ offers a second price tier with access to ad-free game replays, both full and condensed. Coaches’ film and 22 different game angles will also be available to subscribers. None of that is offered with a Sunday Ticket subscription.
Since YouTube TV and YouTube are available on every device, Sunday Ticket can be accessed across phones, tablets, smart TVs, and many other devices.
NFL+ will offer preseason games and extra content like replays and coaches’ film across all devices, but regular and postseason games will stream on phones and tablets exclusively.
Cost
NFL+ subscriptions start at $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, and the premium price tier will run $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year.
To access Sunday Ticket, you’ll need a YouTube TV base subscription for $72.99 / month - this service offers most of the live TV channels offered on cable, streamed to your TV or mobile devices. On top of that, you need the Sunday Ticket package. That costs an additional $349/year. This is the least expensive way to watch NFL Sunday Ticket.
If you have YouTube TV and you want NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone, you can get both for $389/year.
If you don’t want YouTube TV, you can choose to get the Sunday Ticket “primetime channel,” which you can access on regular YouTube, but you’ll pay a premium for that method. This option costs $449/year or $489/year if you want access to NFL RedZone.
Important: If you sign up before June 6, 2023, you’ll get at $100 discount on any Sunday Ticket package.
NFL+
NFL+ allows fans to watch live local and primetime games on mobile and tablet devices. And with an NFL+ Premium subscription, you can watch replays of every single game without ads, condensed game replays, and coaches film. The service also allows fans to choose their audio stream (home, away, and national calls). The Premium plan also includes NFL RedZone on TV.
