There is even more kids’ content to stream, given renewed shelter-at-home concerns.
Pocket.watch is teaming with Hulu, while YouTube Kids is releasing 100-plus movies and specials.
To enhance its Hulu alliance, pocket.watch is offering “Smiles and Smarts,” a collection of 100 short-form enriched learning videos, starring nine of pocket.watch’s successful creator partners, such as JillianTubeHD, EvanTubeHD, Karina Garcia, Onyx Family and KidCity.
The pocket.watch shows teach social and developmental skills, as well as activity-base learning. Programs include “HobbyKids TV,” a 13-episode series in the HobbyScience Lab, where kids learn about everything from sharks to volcanoes, and “MarMar Land,” a 12-episode show that teaches preschoolers practical life skills in a fun way.
The goal is to “keep kids engaged and entertained in the summer months,” noted Thanda Belker, senior vice president of global distribution at pocket.watch.
The new pocket.watch slate on Hulu is complemented by the addition of “Ryan’s World Specials - Learn & Play,” a collection of learning and DIY content.
The company also premiered the first season of “Jillian’s Mystery Craft Box” on Hulu in early July.
In addition, until August 31, YouTube Kids is releasing added content as part of its “After School” experience project.
Don Anderson, YouTube’s Head of Family & Learning Partnerships, wrote the streamer wanted to help parents “with a library of high quality full-length movies and specials that will enrich as well as entertain your children, and that you can enjoy along with them.”
The shows include “Tayo the Little Bus,” “Elmo’s World News,” “The Wiggles, ‘Masha and The Bear,” “Oggy and the Cockroaches,” Paddington,” Oscar-winner “Hair Love” and the BBC Studios’ hit series “Hey Duggee.”
YouTube Kids will exclusively premiere “Spookiz,” a new movie produced by South Korea’s Keyring Studios. It will also offer Disney’s series “Shook and two “Simon’s Cat” specials.
YouTube Kids will air “After School” content every Monday on its “Shows” category over the next five weeks.
