Report: WarnerMedia Streaming Service to Have Multiple Tiers

WarnerMedia upcoming streaming service is expected to offer subscribers different levels of content — differing from Netflix’s approach.

During a (link: According to presentation to investors in New York, AT&T (WarnerMedia’s parent company) shared that their entry-level tier will focus on movies without an original programming.

A second tier would include both original programming and blockbuster movies, with a third including a library of WarnerMedia-owned and licensed content. It is expected that the service will include content broader than just HBO, Turner, and Warner Bros.

Part of WarnerMedia’s strategy is defensive, to keep incumbents from broadening their library. While details on exact timing of the release of the service was not announced, they are expected to launch by the end of 2019.
