Amazon Prime Video Promo For $0.30-Cent Gas Caused So Much Traffic That It Was Shutdown By Police
People like a deal. And this was a really good one. In Los Angeles today, Amazon Prime Video launched a campaign that offered discounts around the city for 'Maisel Day' in honor of their show ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.’ The deals dropped the price of things from food to gas to their 1950’s price — so locals could fill up their tank for just 30-cents per gallon.
Besides gas, there are discounts for $2 manicures at Bellacures in Santa Monica, $2 blowouts at Drybar, $1 sandwiches at Canter’s Deli and Art’s Delicastesssen. A full list can be see here.

But things didn’t go exactly according to plan. Lines at the Chevron station in Santa Monica were so long that they started blocking traffic — which caused the promotion to temporarily be shutdown by police.
Santa Monica Police suspend an Amazon Prime promotion offering gas for 30 cents a gallon. Traffic issues are the big concern. Details coming up at 11am on ABC7. #maiselday pic.twitter.com/sJHQLcDUaK

According to local news anchor John Gregory, the promotion is back on, but lines remain long.
The great deal on gas is back on, but be prepared to wait in traffic to get it. #MaiselDay @ABC7 pic.twitter.com/wosy0oR7s3
