Building on their earlier deal with Apple to allow flyers to stream Apple Music on their flights, they will now be able to stream Apple TV+ too. Unlike the deal for Apple Music which requires customers to have an active account, all American Airlines passengers will be able to access Apple TV+ content.
At the outset, nearly the entire Apple TV+ streaming TV library will be available including “The Morning Show”, “Defending Jacob”, “Dickinson”, and “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet.” It’s expected that the content will be rotated as Apple TV+ adds additional shows.
Earlier this year, Delta and Disney reached a deal to bring selections from the Disney+ library to flights. This expanded their existing relationship that had Hulu Originals like “The Handmaid’s Tale” available.
In February, fuboTV and Viasat reached a deal to bring Live TV to flights. On planes with Viasat internet with participating airlines – fuboTV subscribers will be able to watch Live TV without needing to purchase in-flight internet access.
