Fern Siegel

Now that the ViacomCBS deal is expected to close on December 4, CBS All Access is beefing up its kids’ lineup.

Select Nickelodeon shows will be added to the subscription video platform in January. No specifics yet, but two longtime favorites, “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Dora the Explorer,” are expected.

The two will join a slew of titles already on board, such as “Danger Mouse,” “Bob the Builder,” “Madeline,” “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” and “The Adventures of Paddington Bear.”

The kids’ shows air ad-free.

CBS All Access will eventually include 1,000-plus episodes as more series are brought on in the upcoming weeks.

“Bringing children’s programming to CBS All Access is a significant step toward providing even more value for our subscribers and now for their children as well,” stated Marc DeBevoise, president-COO, CBS Interactive.

CBS All Access may include Noggin, Viacom’s kids’ streamer, in the future. That’s where “Dora” is now, along with other shows, such as “PAW Patrol,” “Peppa Pig, “Team Umizoomi” and “Max & Ruby.”

In addition, Viacom will create new series and spinoffs of popular shows like “SpongeBob” for Netflix in a lucrative deal estimated at $200 million, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

The service has ample original series for adults, too, like “The Good Fight,” “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Strange Angel.”

The streamer is $5.99/month with limited commercials or commercial-free for $9.99/month.
