In September, details of Comcast's plans to launch an XClass line of smart TVs went public. The company created a staged website with details about their smart TVs. Now, it looks like the launch date is quickly approaching. Protocol discovered that one model of Comcast’s XClass Smart TV series is already listed on Walmart's website.
On Walmart’s website, the Hisense 43” XClass 4K UHD A6 Series Smart TV has a full product description, photos, and a price, however, it’s currently out of stock. According to the product photos, Comcast’s smart TVs will come with a free 12-month subscription to Peacock premium. Users can download a variety of streaming apps, including Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, and others. It’s priced at $301.31.
The product listing highlights 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Vision™ HDR and HDR10. Each TV also includes a voice remote for quick and easy navigation. Comcast’s smart TV also boasts a “lightning fast” interface.
According to the product listing, “XClass TV brings you all the joy of TV and none of the frustration. You’re greeted by a home screen that puts the apps and services you love in one place. Protocol first reported Comcast’s plans to launch a smart TV last month. In addition to the 43” TV that is already listed on Walmart’s website, the company will offer a 50” option, per the staged website. At this point, only the 43” TV is listed, but that may change when the TVs become available to purchase.
Comcast has yet to announce the XClass line of TVs themselves, so it’s unclear when the TVs will officially be for sale. With Walmart’s listing ready to go, it shouldn’t be long before Comcast attempts to compete with Samsung's, Sony's, LG's, and VIZIO's smart TVs.
