“Corner Gas”, Animated Series Based on Canadian Hit, Becomes Just Second Original Series For Amazon’s Free Streaming Service IMDb TV

In July, Amazon announced their first original series, You’re Not a Monster, an animated show starring Kelsey Grammer. Now, the free streaming service is adding another animated original their roster. This time, they are looking to Canada for inspiration, with an animated series called Corner Gas Animated.

The show is based on Canada’s most popular comedy brand of all-time, turning the live-action series into animated show. The series debuted in Canada in April 2018, but it will now be available in the U.S. for the first time. The series will debut on IMDb TV on October 15, with all 24 episodes of Corner Gas Animated Season 1 and 2.

“Corner Gas is already known and loved by many across North America and we couldn’t be happier for Corner Gas Animated to join our family of IMDb Originals, bringing even more ways for viewers to be entertained,” said Mark Eamer, Vice President of IMDb TV. “Corner Gas fans can now enjoy the entire Corner Gas franchise for free in one place as it finds its new exclusive home on IMDb TV in the U.S.”

Additionally, IMDb TV will be the exclusive home for the entire Corner Gas franchise, including the six-season sitcom, Corner Gas, and the 90-minute feature film, Corner Gas: The Movie.

IMDb TV was first launched in January with the name IMDb Freedrive. In June the service was renamed to IMDb TV and saw an increase in content—with films and series from Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and MGM added to the platform.

IMDb TV is available on the IMDb website, or as part of the Prime Video app on Roku, Apple TV, iOS, and Android. You can also access IMDb TV from the Your Apps & Channels row on Amazon Fire TV devices.
