Yesterday, there was a lot of speculation that “The Simpsons”, the long-running FOX series, may be coming to an end. Fortunately, for fans of Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Homer, and Marge — those were only rumors, and not true.
The show runner of the series, Al Jean, shut down the rumors in a Tweet.
.@TheSimpsons We are all thankful the following article is NOT TRUE: https://t.co/2Z0VqdfIEM

The initial speculation started when Danny Elfman, the creator of “The Simpsons” theme, said on a podcast, “From what I’ve heard it will be coming to an end.” The news would have been a surprise, given that it one of the tent-pole titles not only on FOX, but also on Disney’s new Disney+ streaming service.
Disney is now the owner of the series after acquiring 21st Century Fox earlier this year. The entire 30 seasons is available on Disney+ — and has been one of the trending series since launch. The series was also renewed for a 31st and 32nd season, which would see it air through at least 2022.
