Former ESPN President Joins DAZN’s Parent Company

Perform Group announced today that they have appointed Former ESPN President John Skipper as Executive Chairman.

Skipper stepped down unexpectedly from ESPN in December following a substance addiction.

The UK-based sports media company owns a number of sports media brands including The Sporting News and DAZN.

DAZN, the OTT sports service, currently available in Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Canada offers 10,000 annual live events. They own streaming rights to Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, NBA, NFL, and WTA in various countries.

They most notably are the NFL streaming rights holder in Canada replacing NFL Sunday Ticket.

“Perform is rapidly expanding its role in sports media with significant investments in the best content and our own platform. We are now preparing to push forward with the expansion of DAZN, our live and on-demand streaming service, in more major markets around the world,” said Simon Denyer, CEO Perform Group.

“DAZN is revolutionizing how fans watch their favorite sports. John is one of the most significant leaders in the history of our industry, and I am delighted that he has agreed to join me and the team to help take Perform to the next level of our ambitions.”
