OTT streamer Haystack TV has launched “Newsline,” an interactive news ticker giving app users a customized feed of breaking and relevant news stories, culled from Haystack’s 300-plus local, national and global news providers.
Newsline has adopted the on-screen TV crawl feature to enhance news viewing and provide easy access to breaking stories, especially critical local news.
The AVOD has teamed with TV news organizations that cover 90 percent of the metropolitan areas in the U.S.
Media companies contributing to Haystack TV include ABC News, AP, Bloomberg, CBS News, Cheddar, CNET, Euronews, Gamespot, Scripps, Newsy, Hearst TV and Yahoo Finance.
Newsline covers an array of topics, including weather, stock-market data and tech, as well as hard-hitting reports. Customized newscasts are found in the “My Headlines” channel, curated by topic, such as “Business and Finance,” “Entertainment News,” “Decision 2020,” “Coronavirus.” Haystack curates the TV news content within each channel, based on viewers’ interests and local markets selected.
Haystack TV is available on the Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV and Roku streaming platforms. Hisense, LG, Samsung and Vizio Smart TVs, as well as Android and iOS mobile devices also carry it. The network is online at www.haystack.tv.
