Whether you’re upset over YouTube TV's battle with NBCU or you’d just like to sample a new service, it’s easy to pause or cancel your subscription. We’ll walk you through the process with pictures.
What is the difference between pausing and canceling?
Pausing your subscription keeps your channel lineup preferences and everything on your DVR until you return. (Recordings will expire You will need to set a return date when you pause.
Canceling your subscription will erase your DVR and your preferences, so be very sure you’re done with YouTube TV before you choose this option.
How to Pause/Cancel YouTube TV

On a desktop browser, click on the circle with your photo in the upper right corner.

Click Settings.
- Click Manage next to Base Plan.
- On this screen, you can choose to cancel or pause. If you’d like to cancel, click Cancel. If you’d like to pause, simply move the slider - that will determine when your billing will resume. When you’re happy, just hit Pause.
- You’re all set.
You’ll get a confirmation email at your address on record. In the case of a paused membership, the subject line will be “Your YouTube TV membership will be paused”
Hi (Your Name),
Your membership will be paused starting Sep 30, 2021 and will resume Jan 20, 2022. You won’t be charged during this time. Enjoy YouTube TV until Sep 30, 2021. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
When you return, your current library, account settings, and notifications will resume as before. (As always, any recordings older than 9 months will expire.) Any family members’ accounts linked to your membership will also be paused during this time.
If you’d like to resume your membership sooner, sign in to tv.youtube.com on a computer and click Manage Membership.
