Hulu Raises Prices - How Does the New Rate Compare to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, and Peacock?
New Hulu subscribers will pay more starting today. If you’d like to sign up now, which includes a 30-Day Free Trial, the ad-supported Hulu will cost $6.99 while the ad-free version will cost $12.99 ($1 more than before). That pricing is still competitive with its rivals.
The ad-supported Hulu is still $3 less than the ad-supported HBO Max. The ad-free Hulu is $1 cheaper than Netflix and $2 cheaper than HBO Max, but costs more than Disney+, Prime Video, or Peacock.
|Service||Price/Month||Has Ads?||Free Trial?||Notes|

|Peacock||$9.99||No||(Free tier available)||Live sports, WWE, movies, TV, and offline downloads|
It’s important to note that Hulu retains its 30-day free trial, so you can try the service to see if it’s a fit for you.
Hulu is also unique in that it offers a version with dozens of live TV channels. If you’d like Hulu + Live TV, that costs $64.99/month and it includes the on demand Hulu library (with commercials, unless you’d like to pay more).
Another unique option to save with Hulu is to get the bundle with Disney+ and ESPN+. If you do this, you’ll save on the cost of all three services. And the bundle savings extends to the version of Hulu with Live TV as well.
Why to Subscribe to Hulu
Hulu offers a strong library of originals and lots of classic and current shows from TV. You’ll get “The Twilight Zone,” “The Shield,” “Firefly,” “What We Do in The Shadows,” “Atlanta,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Cheers,” “This is Us,” “Community,” “The Wonder Years,” “LOST,” “Frasier,” and many more. Current FX shows stream on Hulu after they air.
You’ll also get access to a rotating movie library, including hits like “Parasite,” “Nomadland,” and “Another Round.” The documentary selection is strong, including “Fyre Fraud,” “Summer of Soul,” “Too Funny to Fail: The Life & Death of The Dana Carvey Show,” and “WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn.”
It offers a good selection of current TV shows and its ad-supported tier is cheaper than both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. You will be able to watch most shows from networks like ABC and Fox, and cable channels like FXX, FXM, HGTV, and more.
The service has a Limited Commercials plan for $7.99 a month, or you can upgrade to their No Ads plan for $14.99 a month. For $69.99 a month, you can get Hulu Live TV from major cable channels, live locals and regional sports networks.
