Jessica Alba to Star and Exec Produce ‘Parenting Without Borders’ Series for Disney Plus

Disney+ has a new documentary series, “Parenting Without Borders,” scheduled to begin film production soon, Deadline reports.
Jessica Alba (“Fantastic Four” and “Sin City” franchises) will star and executive produce the travel show. Alba, who has three children, will chronicle parenting practices and sensibilities worldwide.
The show is based on the book by Christine Gross-Loh Ph.D., which found American kids were lagging in key areas of development. So Gross-Loh researched how parents worldwide successfully foster resilience, creativity, independence and academic excellence in their children.
Kathryn O’Kane (“Salt, Fact, Acid, Heat” on Netflix) will double as the series’ director and showrunner.
Companies Boardwalk Pictures, Hunting Lane, Underground and Five All in the Fifth will join Alba as executive producers.
The actress, who often works with director Robert Rodriquez, also cofounded The Honest Company, which sells household goods, baby and body-care products.
Separately, ahead of the streamer’s UK launch, Disney signed an agreement with Comcast-owned Sky to bring its service to Sky Q and Now TV in the UK and Ireland. The streaming service will launch in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland on March 24. Additional Western Europe markets, including Belgium, the Nordics and Portugal, will be added this summer.
Disney+ launched in the U.S. on Nov. 12 and made an instant splash with “The Mandalorian.”
