Yippee, a new subscription streaming service, geared to kids 2-10, has debuted. The focus is shows that do not require parental review.
“Yippee was built by parents for parents. There are no ads, algorithms or attitudes, and the shows on our platform are safe and actually fun,” says Brandon Piety, head of Yippee.
The streamer has both original shows, like “Veggie Tales,” and curated YouTube fare.
Yippee originals include “Backseat Drivers,” which Piety calls the “first-ever car show for kids,” “Pete and Penelope,” “Solving Cubes as Fast as I Can” and “This Cosmic Planet,” among others.
“Veggie Tales” claims to be the best-selling home entertainment series of all time. The animated program has sold 175 million videos, 16 million books and 235 million music streams. Yippee will exclusively air a new original episode each month.
Another popular offering is “Madeline,” based on the beloved books of the little Parisian girl. The cartoon was first developed by NBC.
