Netflix App Adds ‘Latest’ Feature, Allowing Users To Keep Better Track Of New Releases

Stephanie Sengwe

Netflix is making it easier for users to keep track of new releases with the launch of the “Latest” feature which allows users view current and upcoming new content.

Unlike the “New Releases” section which has been a staple on the platform and only lists new programming, the new feature lists newly released titles, as well as movies and TV show seasons that will be released this week and the week after. Upcoming titles are being teased with a trailer, and users can request to be reminded when a title they are interested in becomes available on the service.

Titles shown in “Latest” will be updated multiple times a day, and personalized for each user. However, because Netflix only adds a limited number of new titles every week, the section will likely become a hub for users to look for upcoming movies.

The “Latest” feature started rolling out globally yesterday afternoon and is currently limited to TV devices for now, Variety reports. However, Netflix has a “coming soon” section on Android phones, and is testing a similar feature on iOS right now.
