Netflix Cuts Deal With Director Edgar Wright and Production Company Collaborators for 3 New Shows

A new U.S.-UK production company — Complete Fiction — has launched and one of its remits is to create three new series for Netflix.

The production company’s collaborators include producer Nira Park (“Baby Driver”), director Edgar Wright (“Hot Fuzz”), director Joe Cornish (“The Kid Who Would Be King”) and executive producer Rachael Prior (“Baby Driver”).

First up on the docket is “Lockwood & Co.,” a supernatural detective series, based on the Jonathan Stroud novels. Complete Fiction also optioned Tade Thompson’s horror novella “The Murders of Molly Southbourne” and “The City of Brass,” historical fantasy based on Islamic folklore and culture.

Wright stated: “Complete Fiction will be a dynamic hub for passionate creatives – somewhere they can feel nurtured and protected … I’m excited to bring new stories into the world and be part of making that happen for the next generation.”

“There is so much scope to originate and be genuinely creative in both film and television, and that is more important than ever right now,” added Park.
