NFL Network Won’t Air Thursday Night Football on Sling & Dish During FOX Blackout

Jason Gurwin

Last week, Fox owned-and-operated locals, FS1, FS2 were dropped by Sling TV, while Big Ten Network, Fox Deportes, Fox Soccer Plus were dropped by Dish in addition to the other channels.

On Sling TV, Fox owned-and-operated locals were the only FOX locals carried by the service, meaning all subscribers who previously had the channel are now blacked out. Some of the biggest markets affected are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington DC.

While that meant fans in certain markets couldn’t watch NFL on Fox on Sunday, those with Sling Blue were able to still watch Thursday Night Football on NFL Network — at least last week.

According to SBJ, tomorrow night’s Los Angeles Rams-Seattle Seahawks game will be blacked out on NFL Network for Sling & Dish customers, if they aren’t able to reach a deal with Fox by game time.

For those with Amazon Prime, you will still be able to stream the game in the Prime Video App on your connected TV device. And as with other nationally televised games, you can stream on mobile in the Y! Sports and NFL Apps.
