‘Parks and Recreation’ to Move Exclusively to NBCUniversal’s Peacock in 2020

NBCUniversal finally announced this morning that the name of their highly-anticipated streaming service will be Peacock—a nod to the company’s iconic logo.

In addition to an original slate featuring a reboot of Saved By The Bell, Battlestar Galactica and Punky Brewster, Peacock will be the home of not only The Office, but its longtime companion show, Parks and Recreation. Parks and Rec., which is currently streamable on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu will be exclusively available on Peacock come October 2020, when the shows current license agreements expire.

Peacock launches in April of 2020 with over 15,000 hours of content. The service will be both advertising and subscription supported and more details regarding pricing and distribution will be announced closer to launch.

Other series coming to Peacock are Rutherford Falls with Ed Helms, Dr. Death with Jamie Dornan, Alec Baldwin, and Christian Slater, and behind-the-scenes docuseries about Saturday Night Live.
