Sling TV Offering Free Trial for Former Customers Until January 12

Stephanie Sengwe

Sling TV is ringing in the New Year with new offerings on the platform. The streaming service announced that from now until January 12, former customers can test out new features on the platform for free.

The streaming service has recently made some changes to its offerings. Just before the holidays, Sling hiked their prices, with Sling Blue and Sling Orange plans now costing $30. The company also added the FOX News Channel, MSNBC and HLN to Sling Blue and added FOX Business to Sling Blue News Extra. Though they still don’t have Fox Regional Sports Networks, Sling Orange Sports Extra added the Longhorn Network and ACC Network to its lineup in the fall.

Up until December, Sling TV was the only Live TV Streaming Service that didn’t include a free DVR with their service. But that changed as the company announced it now includes 10 hours of DVR space for all Sling Blue and Sling Orange customers.

According to Sling, once you add Cloud DVR Free, it will appear as an option immediately. Unlike most other services, you can choose to record an individual episode or an entire series of a show. Sling’s Cloud DVR includes the ability to fast-forward through commercials. The DVR is auto-managed, so it will make room for new recording by deleting the oldest “watched” recording.
