This is What Disney+ Looks Like on Your TV and Your Smartphone
At today’s Disney Investor Day, Disney unveiled some of the details of their upcoming SVOD streaming service, Disney+. As part of the announcement they revealed the service will debut in the U.S. on November 12th for $6.99 a Month or $70 a year.
They unveiled that the service will be coming to connected players, Smart TVs, and game consoles. They already have deals with Roku TV and PS4 to feature the service at launch. As part of the announcement, they demonstrated their streaming player app, as well as their mobile and tablet apps.
On top, there is a carousel of featured content, with animated tiles for each of Disney’s properties below. When you click a tile, it will take you to an exclusive experience designed for that content like Pixar or Marvel. When you’re in an individual section, you can see featured shows and movies, as well as personalized recommendations based on your watch history.
If you go to the side bar, you can quickly access every series or movie on the platform, as well as a watchlist which includes shows that you haven’t quite gotten to yet. Each account will let you create profiles for the different members of your household. You can choose an avatar from some of your favorite Disney characters like Woody from Toy Story.
Disney announced that the service will include 25 new original series, 10+ movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault. In a surprise announcement, Disney+ will become the exclusive home of The Simpsons, will the entire library of 30 seasons available at launch.
