Tubi Expands Their Free TV & Movie Streaming Service to VIZIO Smart TVs
In May, Tubi announced that it surpassed 20 million monthly active users, with customers watching over 94 million hours of content. With their growth over the past year, the company is hoping to expand even further with the addition of new platforms including Smart TVs.
Today, the company announced that the streaming service is now available on VIZIO SmartCast televisions. The service previously was made available on Samsung and Sony Smart TVs. Tubi is now available on over 25 devices including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, iOS, and Android.
“Tubi shares VIZIO’s mission to bring consumers more of the entertainment they love, all in one place,” said Farhad Massoudi, CEO of Tubi. “We’re delighted to be a part of the VIZIO SmartCast ecosystem to make our library easily available to VIZIO customers.”
Earlier this year, Tubi announced it would invest over nine figures in content acquisitions to further grow its already massive content library. So far, its device and content partnerships seem to be paying off as they pace ahead of Pluto TV, which announced just last month, that it reached 18 million active users and would be expanding into Latin America. Tubi themselves have also expanded internationally, launching in Australia earlier this month.
The company is hoping to aggressively expand the growth of the service, which also competes with services Xumo and Sinclair-owned STIRR. In February, the Tubi inked a deal with NBCUniversal and brought shows such as Xena:Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys to the service. As of today, Tubi offers more than 44,000 hours of content available to viewers from over 200 partners which also include major studios, MGM, Lionsgate and Warner Bros.
