Tubi announced that voice casting is officially available for Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. Customers simply tell their Nest displays to play content and are able to start watching instantly. Movies available just in time for the holidays include, “The Miracle on 34th Street,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever,” “Sonic’s Christmas Blast,” “Gumby’s Christmas Caper,” among others.
Just last month, Tubi launched an ad-campaign titled, “Not on Netflix.” While the ad targeted Netflix, as they are the biggest shark in the streaming game, it also addressed the influx that has come into the streaming space. With Hulu and Amazon Prime Video already in the mix and the launches of Apple TV+ and Disney+ and the upcoming HBO Max and Peacock causing quite the stir, Tubi presented itself as a hassle-free option. The campaign featured Chris Noth, Terrence Howard, Nicole Scherzinger, Carmen Electra and other celebrities.
Since the launch of the Tubi app in 2014, the platform has shown a steady amount of growth.
They announced that they surpassed 20 million monthly active users in May, with customers watching over 94 million hours of content. Back in February, Tubi inked a deal with NBCUniversal and brought shows such as “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” to the service. In May, the service cut an exclusive deal with Lionsgate to bring all 100 episodes of the comedy “Anger Management” to its customers for free.
Tubi is currently available on Android and iOS mobile devices, Amazon Echo Show, Comcast Xfinity X1, Cox Contour and on OTT devices such as Amazon Fire TV, Sony TVs, Samsung TVs Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Consumers can also watch Tubi content on the web at www.tubi.tv.
