ACC Network Extra is Dropped From Sling Orange Plan Ahead of Tomorrow’s Launch

Tomorrow, ACC Network (ACCN) will be the latest college sports network to launch from a major college conference. ACCN is a collaboration between the ACC and ESPN to bring 24/7 programming on the ACC member schools.

The channel has already announced agreements with Live TV Streaming Services including Hulu Live TV, PlayStation Vue, and YouTube TV — but one of the holdouts has been Sling TV. Sling currently has many Disney-owned channels in their Sling Orange pack including ACC Network Extra, but that’s about to change.

In a message on the channel to customers, it says:

“With the upcoming launch of a new ACC Network, Disney has made this content unavailable to Sling customers for the time being. We’re working to bring this content to you as part of an ongoing commitment to give you the TV you live, with all the flexibility you want, at the best value possible.”

The overflow channel, recently renamed ACCNX, which will air 400 additional live events — will only be be available for subscribers of services carrying ACC Network. While we’ve heard Disney is having productive conversations with Dish to carry the channel for Sling TV — no deal is currently in place. For subscribers of services carrying ACC Network, you can use your TV Everywhere credentials to ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) through the ESPN App.
